Unplugged

Namaste, Welcome to Flavors Unplugged. We’re happy you’re here! This space is all about exploring vegetarian and non-vegetarian recipes, weaving Indian traditions with global culinary inspirations. Simple, authentic, and joyful cooking is at the heart of what we do. You will also find a variety of eggless baking recipes that we’ve tested and perfected over the years.

Our recipes are accompanied by step-by-step pictorial guides to make the process easy to follow. Some recipes even include short videos to complement the instructions.

I am Puja Das, the creator behind Flavors Unplugged. My name reflects my approach to cooking—simple, grounded, and open to exploration.

Life’s journey, with its twists and turns, has deeply inspired my culinary adventures. My passion for cooking began at an early age and has been nurtured through years of practice, training, and love for good food.

Flavors Unplugged began as a way to preserve family recipes and share my culinary journey, blending tradition with creativity. Since its inception, it has evolved into a community-driven platform where recipes cater to both beginners and seasoned cooks alike.

I don’t have formal training in cooking; my journey stems from a deep love for experimenting with flavors and the joy of sharing meals with others. My passion lies in blending the warmth of Indian traditions with the excitement of global flavors, creating recipes anyone can enjoy. Over time, I’ve combined these influences to create unique recipes that are accessible and enjoyable.

I’ve also completed specialized training in plant-based patisserie, which has enriched my understanding of healthy and sustainable cooking practices. Combining traditional knowledge with contemporary techniques, I aim to make every recipe a delightful experience for you.

Flavors Unplugged features an extensive collection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian recipes, each tested and refined in my kitchen. Whether it’s the comfort of homemade dal or the sophistication of international desserts, you will find recipes for every palate.

Some of our fan-favorite recipes include:

  • Vegetable Biryani

  • Butter Chicken

  • Paneer Butter Masala

  • Banana Bread

  • Sambar Recipe

  • Chana Masala

Cooking, we believe, should be a calming experience, with fresh, accessible ingredients that bring joy to every meal. Most of our recipes are made with locally available produce and spices. When adapting traditional recipes or creating new ones, I aim to provide detailed instructions with helpful tips to ensure success in every attempt.

At Flavors Unplugged, we believe in the power of homemade food. Cooking with fresh, wholesome ingredients has always been our mantra. Wherever possible, we incorporate organic and sustainable produce to promote healthy living and support local farmers.

Our blog also highlights lesser-known regional recipes featuring ingredients like amaranth leaves, colocasia roots, makhana, and millet flours. We aim to make these recipes accessible to anyone, showcasing the diversity and richness of Indian culinary traditions.

Indian cuisine is a rich mosaic of flavors and traditions, reflecting the diversity of its regions and communities. From the simplicity of a Gujarati meal to the bold flavors of a Punjabi thali, Indian food represents unity in diversity. Through this blog, we aim to celebrate this diversity, bringing you iconic dishes and hidden gems from all corners of India.
